Yes! Before I come to your home we will set up a free 15 min screening call. If we both discern that working together is a good fit, we will then schedule an in person session at your home or other location of your choosing.
Why? Firstly, because those who need emotional and mental support the most are also the most likely to encounter challenges getting to appointments or navigating telehealth. By coming to you I remove those barriers. All you have to do to access the support you need is to be home and open the door. In addition, I believe healing work that is done at home is more effective more quickly because the emotional frequency of the work remains in the space even after your therapist leaves. We do not do the work in a setting removed from your lived reality. We work with your inner self and also the external environment that is constantly impacting your inner world at the same time.
I understand! If you have not been physically or emotionally well or if you feel anxious and chaotic
inside, your home environment is likely to reflect that. I am not bothered by some clutter or mess and there is no benefit in trying to impress me. The only way to change anything is to start with being honest about where you are. However, there are some circumstances where your home may not be the best or safest place to be. In those circumstances I am happy to meet you at another location.
I am not a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have a Master’s Degree in clinical counseling, was a registered Counselor Associate in Ohio, and worked as a Qualified Mental Health Professional in Oregon. After doing assessment and diagnosis according to the DSM 5 for 2 years I had seen a lot of people move through a system without much improvement, had taken on a lot of vicarious trauma, and knew I needed to do something different. My shift to clinical chaplaincy taught me how to not just categorize and document suffering, but to step into it, tolerate it, and coregulate with those
experiencing it. To my surprise, I watched people shift from despair to hope, from anger to relief, and from denial to acceptance. I was seeing transformation and I was hooked. The kind of therapy I offer looks a little different from a traditional model but after working with hundreds of people I can tell you with confidence, it works.
Unfortunately, I do not take insurance. I understand this is a barrier for many. I do offer a sliding scale fee schedule including options to pay it forward for someone else if this work is meaningful for you.
Some of the benefits of not going through insurance is that it allows me to meet you outside of a clinical office setting, guarantees more confidentiality than insurance allows, and gives you more control over your own care plan than would be possible if a 3rd party insurance company were involved.
Unlike a traditional therapist I do not take notes that could be subpoenaed, or seized. I do not believe you are a subject to be studied and psychoanalyzed. The work we do together in each moment is your work, your story, your unfolding process. My focus is not on information gathering, but on deep emotional presence. If we do take notes during our conversations they belong to you. When I leave, I do not carry a record of your story with me because it is not my story to keep, it is yours. I was only a guest traveler for awhile.
Please note however that I am still a mandated reporter and if you disclose to me abuse of children, elders, or intention of harm to yourself or others I will have a responsibility to respond in ways that keep you and others safe. If this happens I will inform you and we will make a plan together on what needs to be reported, to whom, and how.
This is always your story, your information, your process.

Being deeply seen and heard is often a very emotional and transformative experience. If you are going through a particularly difficult season you might want to schedule weekly visits for a few weeks and then reassess. However, ongoing visits may not be necessary. Many many people have told me after only one visit that they feel so much better, so much lighter, and so much more hopeful. My goal is not for your to continue to need me, it’s to support you as you find your way back to your own internal wisdom and resources.
Great! Whoever you are is exactly who the collective needs you to be. Thank you for being you. I don’t have an agenda around who you should be or how you should exist in the world. I am also not straight, cis, or neurotypical. My relationship with religion is complicated. And while I have white privilege, white is not a real identity, it’s an word that flattens and erases the rich combination of Irish, English, Scottish, and French identities that exist within me
Yes! I come to you!
Traditional in-person therapy happens in a third space carefully curated by the therapist to create an environment that feels welcoming and conducive to healing. There is nothing wrong with that model, but in my experience healing only happens when someone feels fully seen and spaces carry emotional signatures. I come to your space so that you can feel fully seen in your full context and experience the emotional signature of healing in the space you occupy. When I leave the memory of the work we did remains with you in your space and continues to unfold as you live with it. We are not isolated individuals, we are all complex systems of relationship. Coming to your space means working with you in the full range of your lived reality, environment, and relationships. Doing the work where you are brings the support you need right to the place you need it.
In my years working with people on the edge of despair as well as working with my own wounded parts, I have learned there is a formula for moving from despair to hope and from numbness to purpose. It isn’t fast or easy but it will carry you through whatever you are going through to the other side if you are willing to engage it.
I didn’t discover this method. It is reflected in indigenous practices, grief rituals from many faith traditions, and the research of Matthew Lieberman, Karl Jung, Diana Fosha, and many others. The process is simply to allow yourself to fully feel your feelings while being witnessed by another emotionally attuned person. Emotions are meant to be in motion. They are fluid states that do not persist unless we resist them.
However, some emotional states are so overwhelming that they cannot be experienced without the support of another. Many of us get stuck because there is nobody around us who can tolerate witnessing the real force of our grief, pain, anger, or despair. Well-meaning friends try to convince us it’s not so bad, encourage us to cheer up and “be strong,” or jump too quickly to finding solutions, they may even encourage us to numb out by suggesting a drink or a prescription. These are people who care about us but simply do not have the professional training or skills required to treat the kind of psychic and emotional wounds we carry.
If you find yourself feeling numb, unable to get up in the morning, angry, avoiding others, wishing you could die, or stuck in cycles of addiction and shame, I can meet you there.
I'd love to hear from you
